Metallica gets ready for big screen

Metal heads through the years have grown to expect nothing but the best from Metallica, aside from the album “St. Anger.” With groundbreaking albums, electrifying riffs and explosive live shows, fans could not ask for much more.

Until now, it seemed the thrash metal gods had done it all; however, the band will show the world there is nothing it can not do as it takes to the big screen. “Through the Never” will be released in IMAX 3D Sept. 27 and will star the band members as themselves. The movie, which was named after one of the band’s songs, is primarily about Trip, a Metallica roadie played by Dane DeHaan.

In the movie, Trip is sent on an urgent mission for the band during one of its concerts and gets into an accident. When he wakes up, he finds himself in the middle of a riot.

Throughout the film, Metallica does not stop shredding, and parts of the concert are shown from time to time. Metallica provides the soundtrack as Trip faces a deadly horseman in the middle of the riot. The movie cuts back and forth between Trip’s adventure and the band’s concert.

An official preview and two clips from the actual movie have already been released. There is no doubt this will be an action-packed, riff-fueled movie that will have all metal-heads headbanging and satisfied.

Some of the songs expected to be on the movie’s soundtrack include “One,” “Master of Puppets,” “Enter Sandman” and “Orion.” The official soundtrack will be released Sept. 24.
