DJ Earworm is a well-established, technologically savvy musical artist. He is best known for his “United States of Pop” mashup series, which combines the top 25 Billboard hits of a particular year.
The San Francisco native — also known as Jordan Roseman — is coming to Scranton this spring. The disc jockey will perform at this year’s Springfest celebration on The University’s campus.
Each musical piece of his has a main track as the underlying theme. DJ Earworm’s successful series started in 2007 with a mashup based on the beat of Rihanna’s “Umbrella.” The 2012 mashup revolved around the beat of Kesha’s popular hit “Die Young.”
Flash forward to the 2014 mashup in which listeners can hear some of last year’s most popular hits, including “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift and “Talk Dirty To Me” by Jason Derulo, which together made up the bulk of the chorus.
DJ Earworm has dabbled in summer mashups for the past few years. Starting in 2013, the musical artist released a mashup titled “SummerMash ‘13” and another with a parallel title in 2014.
DJ Earworm also has a SoundCloud page where you can listen to his latest tracks. Log onto www.soundcloud.com/djearworm for an inside look into the DJ’s work of 2015 and more.
In hopes that the day of Springfest — which will be May 2 — brings wonderful weather, come check out DJ Earworm and enjoy a fun-filled day on campus.
