A University student was hit by a car on Mulberry Street today just after 5 p.m.

According to Scranton police, junior Meghan Rose, 20, of Falls Township was crossing the street between DeNaples Center and Pilarz and Montrone halls when Jonathan Christiano, 19, of Dunmore, driving a 2000 red Ford Mustang, struck her in the crosswalk.

Several witnesses said they saw Rose go over the hood and roof of the car before rolling off to the side, according to the police report. Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:06 p.m to the 900 block of Mulberry. Police stopped traffic until close to 6 p.m.

According to police, Rose sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Community Medical Center.
