The University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have been suspended by Athletic Director David Martin, according to an email sent out Wednesday by Anitra McShea, Ph.D., Vice Provost for Student Formation and Campus Life.
The email states the suspension is because of alleged violations by both teams regarding The University’s hazing, sexual harassment and sexual misconduct and alcohol policies.
McShea’s email to the student body urges students to refrain from jumping to conclusions about any individuals and the whole team.
The comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
There will be coverage of the teams’ suspensions in next Thursday’s edition of The Aquinas.
