Consumers all around the world eagerly anticipate the release of the newest iPhone during the month September of each year since 2007. On Sept 7, everyone stopped to listen while Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the iPhone 7 and the iOS 10 operating system from the keynote presentation in San Francisco.
Months of speculation ended on this day, as the newest model was announced to be water resistant, have “stereo-like” speakers and no longer have a headphone jack. What do you mean, no headphone jack? Many are questioning this decision by Apple, as now the only way to listen to music through headphones will be either by using the provided lightning connected headphones or through a wireless/bluetooth set.
This is certainly a major change from anything consumers have seen before, but for all who already own expensive headphones, they will still be able to use them by using the dongle included in the box.
It is suspected that Apple is following the lead of Samsung after they came out with their first waterproof phone in 2014. But consumers cannot get too excited by this characteristic.
If someone decides that their iPhone 7 will go for a swim along with them because it is water resistant, the phone will not be operable afterwards. This feature simply means that one does not need to panic if they get caught in a rainstorm and his or her phone gets wet.
Along with the release of the new iPhone each year usually comes an updated operating system. While the new iPhone looks very similar to its older brothers, iPhone 6s and 6s+, the latest model is operated by a new interface system, iOS 10. This software includes a couple of key updates. Many will be surprised that “slide to unlock” is no longer an option and has been replaced by a revamped notifications screen where users have access to the scores of their favorite sports teams, calendar events/reminders and top stories from major news networks.
iPhone owners constantly struggle to find space on their device to store pictures and emails that build up each and every day. Apple has addressed this problem in this update by adding an option to remove music that is least played on your phone remotely so you never have to miss a big moment.
The messaging application is taking on a new look, and now not only do emojis appear bigger in conversations, but users are also able to send messages that feature their own handwriting for a more personalized feel.
Apple claims this is their best and most innovative iPhone model and iOS software yet. Is it really any better than your current model? Check it out for yourself in stores now.
