Top ten movies for Scranton’s rainy days

Everyone here at The University knows that the weather can drastically change on a dime. Just take this past week for example: Sunday night it was 40 degrees and you needed multiple layers just to walk around your house, and then Tuesday it was 81 degrees and everyone was in shorts and flip flops again. This guessing game of what the weather will be is a key component to

The University’s environment. However, with this constant change in the temperature and Scranton’s brutal winter approaching, you need to make sure you are prepared for the days where it is either pouring or snowing and your mentality to leave your bed and do anything is at an all-time low. This calls for a marathon of nostalgic Netflix movies and for you to do nothing but relax.

After going through everything that Netflix has added to its online streaming this October, and the classics that are still available, it is easy to compile a list of the best movies to watch. In my own opinion, I think that the best movies to watch when staying in are the classic throwbacks and even the occasional cartoon classic. In no particular order, I believe that the top 10 movies to watch on Netflix are: “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “Good Will Hunting,” “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh,” “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Tarzan,” “Forrest Gump,” “Holes,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “White Chicks,” and “Big Daddy”.

All of these movies are classics, but they are not the type of classic movies that get over played on TV. The movies listed are my personal go-to movies because they are from various genres- that way there are multiple options for whatever movie mood I happen to be in that day.

As the weather is changing and more rainy days and snow days are in the near future then start to get your list ready. Once these relaxing do’ nothing days come grab your laptop, pick a movie from your list and enjoy! Happy streaming everyone!
