Gift suggestions for holiday season

The semester is rapidly coming to an end, and it is a bittersweet time for students. Finals are approaching, and we are about to say goodbye to our friends for almost two months as we take the semester off for winter break.

However, on the other hand it is the holiday season, the season of giving.
This fact stresses a lot of people out because it is not an easy task to shop for all of those on your list, especially being poor college students.

Thanksgiving break is just two weeks away, and this is a perfect time to buy all the gifts for your friends and family. One of the most important things to keep in mind when buying gifts is to stay within budget. Here are some ideas for every type of person on your list at any budget:
Maximum of $10: These gifts are great for when you have a lot of friends to buy for or if you need a little something extra to add to someone’s gift. Sometimes the best gifts are those that we make.
They are personalized and show just how much you care without breaking the bank. Some Do It Yourself ideas are painting a wine glass, baking cookies, or filling a mug with hot chocolate mix and throwing in a gift card if you want a little something extra!

Maximum of $25: Everyone loves music or television, so a good gift idea for someone is a gift card to a subscription service like Apple Music, Spotify or Netflix. These could come in handy especially when there is no school for almost two months. Sephora always has some amazing holiday gift sets for guys or girls with items such as skincare, makeup or perfume at reasonable prices.

Besides those two ideas, candles (Anthropologie’s are my favorite mugs), adult coloring books, phone cases, external phone chargers, laptop stickers ( chokers or clothing (check the outlets if you have them for discounted items).

$25 and over: Sometimes you have that special someone(s) on your list that you just want to splurge on, and here are some great ideas for them. Everyone needs a Bluetooth speaker and it is such a versatile gift because you can get one off Amazon for $20, or you could get a Beats Pill for over $100. A Fit Bit is a good gift for those friends/family that make their New Year’s resolutions “getting in shape.”

Hopefully this could help them stay on track and make it a good 2017. A polaroid camera is the perfect way to get a physical, instant photo. They also are good to use as decorations. They run for about $70 depending on where you get one from. Finally, a great gift for those who never want anything is tickets to something, such as a sporting event, concert or trip somewhere.

The holidays are about spending time with your loved ones and showing them how much you care about them.

Gift-giving is just a small part of that, but hopefully this list made it easy to see that you can get a gift for everyone on your list at any price point. No matter what you give someone or how much you spend, the most important thing is the effort you put into it.
